### Abstract

In high school, you learn about the close connection between polynomial equations like $f(x)=0$ and the associated geometric object, the graph of $y=f(x)$. One can often leverage this connection to translate insights from one area into another. In this talk, we will describe a similar correspondence between graphs (in this case, networks) and algebraic structures known as ideals.
